Real Asset Management has appointed a new head of institutional capital and investor relations to support the growing demand for income-focused investments.
Adam Willis will oversee RAM’s relationships with institutional investors and lead its investor relations effort.
At the private credit specialist fund, he will also play a key role in fostering strong engagement with investors in the ASX-listed RAM Essential Services Property Fund.
Willis joins from DWS, where he served as director of client coverage, managing relationships with wholesale, wealth, and family office clients.
Before that, he led Australian sales and marketing at Research Affiliates, a California-based asset manager. He also served as head of index and multi-asset distribution for LGIM in London, part of the FTSE 100-listed Legal & General Group.
He previously held senior roles at MSCI Inc, Citigroup and Suncorp Group.
RAM group chief executive Scott Kelly said the firm has made significant strides in institutional investment and distribution, including securing a large institutional mandate from a large Southeast Asian sovereign wealth fund last year.
“Adam’s expertise in business strategy implementation across institutional markets – spanning superannuation, wealth, and family offices – will bring tremendous value to our investors and funds,” Kelly said.
“His appointment aligns with our ongoing focus on strengthening relationships and enhancing our capabilities, as we expand our institutional footprint while delivering value to our investors.”
“I’m excited to join the RAM team. While the firm’s strong track record is evident, its ability to remain nimble in navigating market opportunities sets it apart,” added Willis.
The appointment follows the recent hiring of James Chapman as portfolio manager with the credit team.
Chapman joined last month from Aura Funds Management, where he was an investment associate in private credit actively involved in building the portfolio and developing funding structures and relationships with non-bank lenders.
